FAQs

LOAD BERLIN was founded at the end of February 2024 by Maurice Pehle, Alang Heinrich, and Theo Dietrich.

We are a Berlin-based Running Club that offers weekly Club Runs on "LOAD Monday." In addition, we organize long runs and exclusive events in Berlin. We are an independent club, organized by LOAD MORE.

Lena Zwicker is the pacemaker at our runs. She leads the warm-up and sets the pace. She is also available to assist you with any questions.

LOAD started as a feature platform for film photographers on Instagram under the programmatic name @loadfilm, founded by Maurice Pehle in January 2021.

When the idea came up to start running together and bring it under one name, it was immediately clear that LOAD was the perfect choice.

The name reflects a continuous loading process but can also be interpreted in different ways. It can represent recharging energy or the burden of everyday life.

Maurice Pehle designed the LOADING DOTS Logo in October 2023 and later registered it as a trademark—without yet knowing exactly what it would be used for.

"I originally created it as an icon for my LOAD MORE agency, symbolizing the continuous loading process and 'more.' In February 2024, I finally knew its purpose: for my Running Club, LOAD. In my eyes, the best choice."

The three "LOADING DOTS" form a minimalist design that embodies our values and mission through symmetrical and geometric shapes:

On one hand, it represents the ongoing loading process—the dynamism and movement that drive us. On the other hand, it symbolizes something new: the 'more' we always strive for, or the foundation of what we have already built.

Although the shape is asymmetrical, the eye perceives the spacing as harmonious and balanced—just as we aim to create a balance between consistency and innovation.
With our Logo, we express who we are: curious, motivated, and driven by progress and community.

The slogan "Connect the Dots." also allows for some interpretation. It could refer to the obvious—the description of the LOADING DOTS logo—or the metaphorical connection of dots/people.

On a deeper level, it can be seen as a reflection on past moments and experiences, learning from them, and continuously improving. Creating a bigger picture from many small dots.

Since the phrase is grammatically in the imperative (command form), it is also a kind of motivational slogan! The word "Connect" directly addresses someone (2nd person singular/plural), and the accusative and plural "Dots" emphasize that it’s not just about a single dot.

We always post the latest Club Runs and information about upcoming events on our Instagram and Strava profiles. Feel free to follow us.

Code of Conduct: Please make space for others. Take time to listen and be aware of your surroundings. Be the best ally you can be! There is no place here for racism, homophobia, transphobia, body-shaming or any other form of prejudice or discrimination. Respect individuals’ chosen pronouns and use them consistently. Avoid assumptions about gender identity. If you aren’t sure (or even if you think you’re sure), just ask, and offer to share your own.

Note that by attending the LOAD events, you consent to be photographed during the run. The images are used on social media for advertising purposes.

I acknowledge and agree that participating in the runs is entirely at my own risk. I understand and accept that I am solely responsible for any incidents, damages, or injuries that may occur during the event, and I release the club from any liability in this regard.

No, we don’t have a membership program, and there are no costs. We are inclusive—everyone is welcome to join and run with us. It’s not mandatory, but feel free to sign up for the event on Strava so we can plan accordingly.

If an event involves costs and we need to charge a fee, we will inform you in advance (e.g., for a padel event).

We meet for our "LOAD Monday" at the MAAP LaB Store in Berlin Mitte, Alte Schönhauser Str. 7, 10119 Berlin, at 6 45 PM, and we start with a Warm-Up at 7 00 PM followed by our 7km Club Run.

In the store, there are changing rooms, a bag drop option, toilets, and we provide water after the run.

Exclusive events and Long Runs usually start at a different location. Feel free to check out our Instagram and Strava for more details.

We run at a pace of 6'30 min/km, which is a manageable speed that even beginners can handle. The 7 km might be a bit much for a start.

We always make sure that no one gets left behind, but we encourage you to assess whether you've run this distance at this pace a few times beforehand.

You know best if you can manage it!

Absolutely YES!

The pictures taken at the events are partially posted on Instagram and fully uploaded on Strava. For organizational reasons, we are unable to provide the RAW files or any additional selections. You can screenshot them on Instagram or Strava.

The use of these images is only allowed for private purposes with a credit to @LOADBERLIN and the respective photographer.
